Counting Fish

Materials:
1- fish template, printed and cut out
20 ish- Pepperidge Farm Goldfish
1- sheet of plain paper
markers
glue

We have been working on counting so when I found this cute fish template from  First School I knew we needed to do it in school. As a review we also worked on F is for fish.

Today we also used goldfish to work on counting. I made a worksheet by writing 1 fish, 2 fish, etc. then an area for total of goldfish. For each number Colton counted corresponding number of fish. When all the numbers were filled up we added then all together and wrote the total number on the bottom.

Glitter Fish

fish template, printed on construction paper
karo syrup
tempered paint
paint brush and bowl
glitter
tray (for applying glitter)
1- googly eye

The theme for school this week is, "Pets." Since Colton only has fish as pets we decided to make a fish. We got this fun idea from my mom.

Step 1: Mix 1 part karo syrup and 3 parts paint in a bowl
Step 2: Paint the fish with the paint mixture.

Step 3: Sprinkle glitter onto the wet paint.

Step 4: Let dry, then glue the googly eye onto the fish.

Triangle Fish

Materials:

Water colors
Scissors
Glue
1- small, medium, and large paper triangle

I found this cute fish from DLTK's Crafts for Kids. Instead of cutting 3 triangles out of different colors I cut them all out of white paper and allowed Colton to paint with water colors.
